Painting outdoors with the subject in full view. This type of painting has several challenges because you have to carry your easel, paints and supplies to your spot to paint. Plus you must cope with changing light, clouds, and weather. It is a lot of fun!
Alla Prima is "Wet-on-Wet" method of oil painting. This is the method that William Alexander and Bob Ross used. Simply put, this method is layering wet paint on top of wet paint. It requires a sturdy, thick paint.

I paint with both methods, they just work great together. Once you learn how to load the brushes with paint and apply it to the canvas, you will be amazed with it.
Let's get crazy and paint something.
